Shout! Work Proud, Party Loud

Shout! Word Proud Party Loud is a concert sponsored by Accenture to conclude the summer season. It was held at SMX Convention Center. Karen brought me along to their company party because, well,  it's free!

It had rained hard last week so this event totally slipped off my mind until Karen reminded me Saturday afternoon. Aside from the fact that I'm naturally lazy, the weather definitely makes me want to just stay in bed, eat cookies, and watch Gossip Girl.

I wasn't that enthusiastic when I learned that Gary Valenciano was the main performer. I mean I've never watched him perform live, and I really wanna see him perform, but I would've been happier if my favorite performers were also in hte line-up (choosy pa, libre na nga eh!).

But I needed to go or else Karen will have to pay P800 for a penalty fee because I was listed as her guest/plus one. Well, it turned out that there were many other performers. Going outside my little room was worth it!

James Yap was the first to perform, not singing or dancing whatsoever but shooting. Accenture recently concluded their BPO Olympics and this day was also for recognizing the participants that excelled in their respective sports.

After those ball shooting stuff at the back part of the SMX (where sports and gaming equipment were set up for the use of everyone), the Olympics participants plus James Yap paraded around, with a band and majorettes a la fiesta sa barrio.

After the parade, event hosts Iya Villania and Andrei Felix did a roll called of Accenture's VIPs. Then Philippine All-Stars starts the entertainment. I was not amazed when I first saw them perform last year, but this time I noticed the females in the group and they're pretty good.

Then Kyla took over the stage with her rendition of Lady Gaga's "Edge of Glory" and a couple other songs, one of which is an original from her upcoming album. She was followed by a certain Abby Asistio. (I don't really know who she is. Maybe a newbie in the music industry.)

Brownman Revival serenaded the audience with "Binibini," then set a party mood with "Jammin'" and brought the audience singing with them in an Eraserheads song. Brownman's last song was a duet with Sitti. It was a reggae but Sitti's singing style made it Bossa-ish. Sitti performed "Mas Que Nada" and "Para Sa Akin" and made love with the audience with her singing.

After toning it down with Sitti's calming vocals, Young JV heated up the stage once again. If you don't know him, he's a semi-Justin Bieber of the Philippines. He sings and dances. He performed his last two songs with Guji. Yeng Constantino rocked the stage next. She's not that funny but her ad libs were entertaining enough. She really owned the stage and sang about 5 or six songs. John Pratts showed his moves next with few dance numbers after Yeng.

What really made my night was Six Cycle Mind. So Tutti is their lead vocalist now and he's way better than Ney. At the end of their song "Kasalanan," Tutti did everything —the rap and all. Kaya niya rin pala mag-Gloc-9 eh! The band performed 5 songs, I think. One is a medley of hits from other disbanded Pinoy groups.

Of course, Gary V. was the last to entertain the audience. Some of the numbers he performed with his son Gab. As expected, he concluded the event with his hit "Shout for Joy."
