In Taguig with the Kids from Yesterday

This is (almost) half of my high school barkada. We rarely get together these past years and last Saturday has been the time in a long while that the number upped from the usual 3-4 attendees.

Usually, we only get to see each other on holidays when people are vacationing in Cagayan. We do make an effort to meet up in the city, but it has became difficult since everyone has their own priorities, and because, work.

There's a funny story behind this mini-reunion. Two of our friends are based in Taguig and everytime they invite us to come over, people refuse because Taguig is too far. It came to a point na nagkakatampuhan na, until one of 'em said, "Hindi naman malayo, ayaw niyo lang." We took that as challenge, at least for me. So I said, the next time, they'd invite us over, I'll make sure to go. So there I went, together with 3 other people living in the northern area.

McPaul (somehow) works for SM Aura and since its opening, he'd been inviting us to come over and he'll tour us around. But we only took the invitation seriously when he said he's gonna treat us, too, haha! True to his words, he treated us with a late lunch/merienda, coffee and dinner, all in between walking around BGC.

Another thing that's really cool with this reunion, there wasn't a drop of alcohol involved but we managed to stay up, just chatting. We've truly changed, for the better! :D

The necessary kumustahan happened over coffee, and after a couple of hours, decided to take a walk around BGC. We walked and walked, looking for a nice play as tambayan. We wanted to eat at Mercato but there were too many people as there was a football match going on just at the field opposite the food market. So we walked back. Many steps later, we decided to just eat at this Chinese restaurant, Kirin. It was already late, but most of us weren't really hungry. We were the ones to leave the restaurant last.

From there, we went to the find an empty bench where we stayed. There was this guy on a wheelchair singing 90s songs who provided us with background music as we talked. Whenever someones feels bored, or someones suggests we do something, we get up and walk again. And comes back inside the BGC again. The guard kicked us out because apparently, BGC closes, too. That was around 2pm. We continued the gossips at McDo with just water to keep us awake. Though I had to leave earlier because I was so damn sleepy. I slept off the remaining hours of dark with a smile on my face.
