BroucoLei Gets Married!

Roujahn and Leilene’s wedding is the happiest wedding I’ve gone to so far. This is in part because their wedding became an instant venue for my college blockmates to reunite. Brou and Lei are our batchmates and we’ve seen how their relationship grew from merely being friends/blockmates to being boyfriends and girlfriends eventually. Nakuha sa tuksuhan.

Piya and I took left Baguio a little before 10pm., which was a miscalculation, because we arrived in Baguio at half past 3am. We had nowhere to go. I messaged Henson to check if he can take us in (Dona and her nephew had also just arrived). We decided to eat at Good Taste while waiting for Henny’s reply. He did answer back. So off we went to their house in La Trinidad. Only to be left out there in the cold for almost an hour because Henson fell back asleep with his phone in silent mode.
When finally he answered our call and we found their house, and took a nap, just a nap because the wedding is in the morning.

Brou and Lei's love story started during an immersion trip to Nueva Vizcaya (I wasn't there). The participants implemented a buddy system. And yes, Brou and Lei were paired. The rest is history.

They finally tied the knot, last Saturday at San Jose Parish Church in La Trinidad, Benguet. It was a simple catholic wedding. But I wasn't informed that weddings in Cordillera is actually one to sawa.
I mean, wedding celebrations back in my hometown is very similar, there's a lot of dancing and guests aren’t limited. But the party lasts for maybe 3-4 hours at most. Whereas, Brou and Lei's wedding went on for 5+ hours. When we left, the celebration was still ongoing.

After the wedding, we continued the celebration at Henson's house, sans the newlyweds because they were still attending to their other visitors plus they need to rest.

The house is located Long-Long, Puguis, La Trinidad. His family is not really staying there since they have an apartment near BSU so it's basically empty, but is fully furnished, in other words, perfect for a barkada vacation!

We set-up the drinking/catch-up session near beside the fireplace, and didn't stop until we finished all the alcohol we bought.

The next day I could barely remember we took photos every time somebody goes home.

Tine, Dinang and Manong Ben weren't able to make it since they had another important matter to attend to. Mara and I just met with her at SM over Korean food.
