Finding Antologi

I've been sleep-deprived for days even before going to Yogyakarta so I just wanted to rest after each day's activity, but one night, my colleagues had plans to go to this coffee shop co-owned by one of our partners. I thought they were referring to Black Java Coffee which I visited last year, but no, it's a different cafe.

Being the explorer~ that I am, I gave in since we're only there for a few days and who knows when I'll be back. My colleagues wanted to go because there was a car available for use. But when we're already seated in the car, we were told by the chauffeur that he cannot take us there because the streets going the coffee shop are narrow and it will be difficult to move with the huge ass van. We did not easily give up. We did not want to let go of the comfort of a vehicle and tried to negotiate with the driver, but we lose. 😅

From the hotel, we started walking aimlessly while catching up. Only after several minutes did we realize that none of us knows exactly how to get to the coffee shop. We decided to just go back to the hotel. We couldn't do anything because we did not have access to the internet. And then while infront of a shoe store, our youngest asked a man for directions and despite not being able to communicate in English, he did give us directions (right, left). Only 3 of us decided to go. We walked through a residential area. "Near" is relative so we had to stop and ask directions every now and then. When we finally saw the coffee shop sign at an intersection, we still could not find it. Two girls whom we asked for directions decided to just walk with us because we were hesitant to take the alleyway.

It took us probably an hour, but it was worth it, even though 2 of us cannot really have coffee that late. Do check out Antologi when in Yogyakarta.
