In a Fantasy World

Have you ever wondered what that palace-like structure you passed by along the outskirts of Tagaytay highlands? Finally, last weekend, together with my friends, we finally satisfied our curiosity.

According to stories we're heard, this place referred to as"Fantasy World" was supposed to be a theme park built to rival the Enchanted Kingdom. However, even before it was launched, internal issues arose that prevented the theme park from opening to the public. In recent months (or years? I'm not quite sure), the management decided to open the place to the curious public to see what's left of it.

Fantasy World sits in several hectares of land in Lemery, Batangas. For now, the place is only accessible via private vehicles. But despite it being a non-functional theme park, a lot of people still come to see it. They are charging Php 100 per person for the entrance.

Several buildings with magnificent exterior surround a small square of what's supposed to be the plaza. Visitors are allowed to go up to this main building. On its ground floor are food and souvenir vendors, but the other floors are deserted.

From the highest tower, you'll get a good view of the park.

Indeed the place has the essentials that a theme park ought to have including various rides and attractions although these have now been dilapidated and overrun by weeds and overgrown plants and trees.

The rustic allure of the place actually makes it a good place to take photoshoots which we did, of course.
